Team Leader - Support & Devlopment

Job Summary

The team leader, support and development provide support to the various departmental heads of service, when they need help. The incumbent replaces the shift supervisors during absence or vacation. The employee performs group support tasks according to the priorities agreed with the director of the refinery. The replacement of the director can also be assigned to him, according to the agreed development plan. During the absence of the refining planner, he performs the regularly imperative tasks of the latter.

Main Responsibilities


  • Meet the interview for short-term follow-ups;
  • Monitoring of equipment modifications by maintenance / engineering;
  • Responsible for daily PES monitoring: Continuous improvement, product inventories, purchases, work with external resources, submissions, requisition of personnel, interviews, upgrading of procedures, risk analyzes, internal audits, external audits,
  • Make OHS corrections to the sectoral health and safety committees; laboratory and refining;
  • Manage the sectoral refining health and safety committee;
  • Conduct of monthly meetings and other committee activities;
  • Inform the superintendent / Director of current files and achievements;
  • Responsible for short-term follow-ups with CDS, and representatives of the sectoral committee when required, during the absence of the refining planner;
  • Replaces the shift manager, during their absence, at the request of the director depending on the priority of the current files;
  • Replaces the superintendent, during his absence, according to the director's request, depending on the priority of the current files;
  • Participate in the action committee to reduce sugar losses;
  • Writes and maintains documents, procedures and work instructions to help the group achieve the objectives: OHS / FSSC 22000 / Quality / Performance indicators;
  • Support department heads when they have a temporary overload of tasks: Help with the process, replace the CDS to perform an audit, or other.
  • Works with suppliers of equipment or services to improve our performance;
  • Conducts internal audits to monitor the implementation of new processes and / or to ensure their maintenance;
  • Participate in or lead projects in partnership with the engineering or maintenance department, which varies according to the director's request, depending on the priority of current files;
  • Performs, in rotation, on-call guards of the 2nd hierarchical level, to assist the shift manager if necessary;
  • Responsible, jointly with the purchasing department for inventory management, for chemicals for refining, in particular that the purchasing department is informed of unusual consumption;
  • Transmits inventories of products being refined to the finance department;
  • Develop and / or modify lockout sheets;
  • Participate in the group's effort during urgently required adjustments (sugar losses, loss of melting, etc.);
  • May be called upon to participate and / or lead working groups with other sectors to improve certain aspect of operations;
  • Provides support to the superintendent when required, example: accumulating data for performance indicators or internal audit, etc.

Qualifications and Experiences Required


  • Bachelor's degree / or equivalent practical experience in the field;
  • Bilingualism French - English (spoken and written);
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of MS Project;
  • Team spirit;
  • Open to dialogue and consultation;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Resourceful and autonomous;
  • Flexible in terms of working hours;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of refining.
