Main Responsibilities


  • Effectively manage all engineering-related activities to ensure the safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors with a zero-incident objective;
  • Demonstrate leadership, coaching, provide guidance and oversee the professional development of the department staff;
  • Establish and manage the department budget during the year;
  • Actively participate in CAPEX budgeting activities with internal clients and prepare period-end reports;
  • Ensure compliance with all engineering regulations and requirements;
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and maintain equipment and infrastructure;
  • Identify process improvement projects;
  • Monitor and implement a continuous improvement process to achieve or improve key performance indicators;
  • Collaborate with other departments (human resources, finance, procurement, quality/environment, logistics, sales, operations, and maintenance);
  • Provide leadership to promote and support Lantic's mission and values;
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Responsible for engineering management, supervising the team of engineers and technicians;
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the project’s successful execution;
  • Financial management/project controls;
  • Perform monthly evaluation and engineering reports;
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly cost reports;
  • Develop and support the 5-year strategic capital budget and major maintenance plan.

Qualifications and Experiences Required


 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Member of the OIQ)
  • 1-3 years of relative work experience
  • Technical experience in mechanics and process;
  • Experience in project management;
  • Experience in managing financial budgets and capital projects;
  • Understanding of food security programs and how they are administered;
  • Strong leadership and management experience;
  • Strong ability to motivate employees and promote teamwork;
  • Ability to define and implement strategy;
  • Good communication skills in French and English.
