Engineer - Production and Refining

Job Summary

Under the authority of the Plant Manager, provide technical support to operations and maintenance and proactively identify process improvements that could be implemented at the Montreal refinery to reduce costs, improve efficiency and / or increase sugar recovery. In addition to ensuring continuous improvement in day-to-day operations, the incumbent will, with the help of others, develop and propose capital expenditures that would be necessary to support these improvements and provide project management.

Qualifications and Experiences Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical or electrical is a considerable asset);
  • Be a member of the Order of Engineers;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel;
  • Expertise and manufacturing experience in the factory as well as familiar with continuous improvement concepts (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.);
  • Mastery of Autocad or other design software;
  • Team spirit and good communicator;
  • Strong sense of responsibility and good political sense;
  • Adaptability, autonomy and rigor;
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity and good critical sense;
  • Good stress management;
  • Be multitasking;
  • Have an interest in industrial processes;
  • Mastery of Autocad or other design software.
