Quality Assurance Technician (Temporary 6 months)

Lantic is currently recruiting for the temporary position of Quality Assurance Technician based at our Vancouver Refinery. The position reports to the Laboratory Services & Environment Manager. The incumbent prioritizes on assuring that the product meets food safety and quality requirements. The employee performs a variety of functions, including laboratory and microbiological analysis, environmental sampling and testing, to ensure that the organization is adhering to customer standards, quality requirements, legal provisions and environmental standards. The employee follows a set of processes to ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety rules, and product quality standards. 

Main Responsibilities


Sampling products and conducting full analysis of all the products to ensure quality standards are met;

Recognize and put on hold non-conforming products, communicating with appropriate departments and investigating product holds;

Ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations;

Perform data entry, monthly reports and converting physical reports into digital reports  for evaluation of results;

Any other QA/ QC activities  when required to support operations 
 

Qualifications


Post-Secondary education in Food science, Nutritional science, Chemistry or related Science field with laboratory experience;

Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a food process and/or chemical laboratory and quality assurance laboratory for starting in the position;

Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, Knowledge of Maximo and/or SharePoint is an asset);

 Proficient in English (spoken and written);

Good knowledge of HACCP and GFSI recognized schemes is an asset;

Safety conscious and possess understanding of safety rules;

 

Education


Post-Secondary education in Food science, Nutritional science, Chemistry or related Science field with laboratory experience;
