Reliability Supervisor

Job Summary

Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, the Reliability Supervisor will provide safe and effective operational and technical support of all plant operations and maintenance. The incumbent will provide guidance with continuous improvement support, training, plant trials and assist with major maintenance projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and requirements with the objective of zero harm;
  • Assist with the management of major maintenance projects, reliability and continuous improvements for plant wide processes, systems, equipment and infrastructure, including piling grounds; assists with the development and maintenance of the CMMS, develop work plans;
  • Support and assist in innovation, plant trials and training/succession planning;
  • Provide support and training for the implementation and optimization of maintenance best practices, inventory parts, standard inspection programs, and predictive/preventative maintenance programs;
  • Timely completion of safety corrective actions and incident investigations, including related follow ups for department;
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of effective production and maintenance reporting system;
  • Assist with implementation of the failure analysis process to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) performance for the plant;
  • Follow up on day to day achievement of operational KPIs and any related corrective action;
  • Support and assist with capital projects in the Taber facility;
  • Provide leadership to promote and support Lantic’s Mission and Values;
  • Foster a continuous improvement and change management mindset.

Qualifications and Experiences Required

  • Preference will be given to a candidate with post-secondary education in Engineering or the completion of a Red Seal trade;
  • Continuous Improvement/Reliability programs an asset;
  • Relevant Maintenance or Project Management Courses an asset;
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role is preferred;
  • Understanding of Maintenance Engineering;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with automated process technology;
  • Knowledge of food processing, packaging and harvest operations;
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and operating procedures;
  • Experience in failure analysis;
  • Understanding of food safety programs and their role;
  • Understanding of environmental regulations;
  • Understanding of continuous improvement;
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment;
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce is considered an asset.
