Internship – Process Engineer

Job Summary

The chemical engineering intern will work as a team with employees from the process, production and engineering sectors of the Montreal refinery to support various projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Learn the sugar refining processes;
  • Support activities that improve plant performance in the areas of reliability, safety and process costs;
  • Develop training materials;
  • Write procedures for site operation and inspections;
  • Keep the production process flows up to date;
  • Develop work instructions and process documents;
  • Study operational problems affecting production, complete reports and make recommendations;
  • Identify ways to reduce production costs through recommendations - that is, new process equipment, justifications for the equipment to improve performance;
  • Communicate with suppliers on the manufacturing process.

Qualifications and Experiences Required

  • Currently undergoing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering;
  • Must be a 3rd year student;
  • GPA minimum of 3.0 or more;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (French and English);
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Strong organizational, priority management and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and learn new tasks;
  • Ability to conduct in-depth research and summarize results;
  • Ability to work independently but appreciates the benefits of being part of a team;
  • Good logic and attention to detail;
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take initiatives;
  • Willingness to go to other Lantic plants if necessary;
